[A few hours after this, Break's PCD is jostled on.

It's a video feed, yes, but all that's visible is the inside of Break's pocket. From the sounds of things, he's still in the streets, propped against a building, wheezing for breath. A few coughs, and he spits blood onto his white coat sleeve, sinks to the ground with a groan.

Not a good day.]

[And now, no one is with Yuca. Al feels that tug again, to go to him, so he won't be alone, and fights it back.]

There's blood on your lips. Did he rupture something inside?

Ah, no- an old achilles heel.

[Brushing his mouth, hurriedly.]

[He doesn't have the exact same thing, but a blanket will help, all the same.]

[Wherever it's located and whatever caused it, Al still doesn't like the whole coughing blood thing ever.]

A few minutes, I'll be right there.

[And in about eight minutes, he will be, with a nice warm jacket AND a blanket. The zoomer is kind of odd, but it does float above the ground, and it lands with a little thump. Now, where is Break?]

[Break is right where he was when they spoke last; curled up against the side of a building, chin resting on his knees. The only difference is that this time, he's drowsing off to sleep.]

[Al hesitates just a little; not everyone is okay with touch, and he doesn't want to be presumptuous. Even with their common ideals, he still doesn't know the real Break. Holding the blanket, he kneels down in front of him.]

Break... hey, it's me. Wake up.

[... he looks even worse in person. Al reaches out, and if allowed, will very gently nudge his arm.]

[Break's eye opens, and he smiles.]

Al?

[Blind as a bat, really.]

[Wait, really? Al does not know this.]

Yeah.

[Al shifts with a smile, and reaches out a hand, to help him to his feet.]

[Yep. He hides it well, but his vision is going steadily downhill. The same thing that's eating up his lungs is playing merry hell with his brain. There are good days and bad days, of course- this is one of the bad days. He clambers to his feet slowly, with the help of his cane.]

Show me this vehicle.

[Assuming Break had declined the offer of his hand, Al gets to his feet along with him, but pauses. The Zoomer's right behind him, a few feet away.]

Right here.

[Al steps to the side a bit. It's a small test, just to see...]

[Break takes a step after him, cane dragging along the ground in front of him oh so casually, negotiating obstacles.]

[If he's blind, he's good at hiding it... Al can't really be completely sure -- but when Break follows him instead of looking towards the Zoomer, he's gotten it.]

[Al's voice is gentle, not patronizing, but gentle.]
