He was a vampire. Very old, very cynical. He didn't often smile, but sometimes I could get one out of him. I loved his laugh too, but that didn't happen too often. All of these cuts and bites were voluntary, but some were emergencies.

He could read minds. It wasn't a voluntary thing most of the time. Understandably he had a hard time trusting anyone, including me. I do believe he honestly tried, to give credit where it's due. But we had nothing in common, and he was very jealous and possessive.
