[video] rebel without a cause

What an exciting week!

In light of all the discussion, Adstringendum, let's chat- who would you trust to nominate as ombudsman?

If you'll forgive me for saying, I think you're getting far, far ahead of yourself.

The only thing that we're doing right now is trying to set up a patrol.

I'd react this way if you were doing far, far less.

Would you?

It's on different than what many people here are already doing- you seemed to not object to that. Why then, is the concept of organizing our efforts to ensure a better protection such a threat?

Because it puts power in the hands of a few.

[If this were video, you would have seen him laugh.]

Power? The distribution of power is already uneven. Just a few days ago, a young man died because someone else had more power than him. We're trying to protect people from that sort of abuse of power.

If I'm wrong, then you'll have no possible objection to an ombudsman!

The only objection I have is the fact that this election process is going to slow progress. One person has already died before we could get a working system- and that's only in this past week.

Since you'll be addressing charter issues, it'll give the rest of us a chance to catch up.

You heard me. Work out a formal mandate.

Firstly, it's already in progress.

Secondly, I don't believe you're my superior. For all this talk of equality, you're quick to assume leadership.

I'm not leading anything. I'm informing you bluntly of what I'll need to feel comfortable considering complying with the rules you set out.

We haven't set out any 'rules' yet.

Later.
