A bucket?

We'll put a cookie under it, and balance it on a stick, attached to a string!

We could tie the other end of the string to the cook so that when it's disturbed the stick is tugged enough to send the bucket falling.

Or hang onto it ourselves and keep vigilant!

[He sets out one of the- oh, ten or so cookies.]

[He'll hold up the bucket for stick placement, and remove the string from his bag-- just long enough to sit a decent distance when it's not looped several times through two holes.]

[And on the other end of the string, Break sets up a picnic blanket.]
