A month ago, and this situation would have exploded. Possibly into violence. But this is a month and a lifetime later, and Lucifer just simmers for a few silent moments. Calculating.
"If I so much as look like I'm stepping out of line, you're insane if you think he won't tell Rei that she can hurt me and make it stick. So you understand if I want something more than your word before I tell you anything."
