[There is no video feed this time. Just the grind and grit of gravel shifting, the dripping sounds of water and Break's laughter. His voice misses 'merry' by a long shot. He sounds like he might be going into shock.]

[Breaking silence this soon is risky, but Break might be desperate. He has nowhere to go, and won't last out here like this.]

I'm getting so sick of the cold.

[Break tells the camera, sorrowfully.]

All I really want to do is nap and eat, then nap, then eat a little more. I haven't even been keeping up with the little listy thing of people's lives.

I trust nothing has burned down in my absence? Of course not, how could it, the flames would be dampened under all the cursed snow.

[The man stretches lazily, and sits up a little, moving to turn the feed off while he goes about making himself some breakfast.]

[ooc: Break is evented. That's right, the mad hatter, telling the truth, possibly for the first time so far.]

There were a few people I was supposed to get in touch with. And a few people I haven't been in touch with for too long!

[Break's little doll waves at the camera.]

For the rest of you, I have advice to ask. It's probably for those of you that have been here a little longer than I have. What advice do you give new arrivals? In terms of advice for finding shelter, and getting food and clean water. When I arrived it was the clinic, but there must be other communal places. Buildings that remain reliably steady over time.

[The PCD drops, and Break makes a noise rather like a shriek of pain, clutching at the eye usually covered by the fall of his hair. Eye socket, rather; it was ripped out a long time ago. And now, with his one good eye, he's seeing her.]

It isn't real, it isn't real, it isn't- someone out there, tell me it isn't- it isn't real, it isn't-

[He backs up fast, connects with the wall, and looks down at the PCD with his one good eye, not minding, for the moment, that the scars that he usually conceals carefully are visible.]

[The video is triggered by Break lurching forwards. The PCD falls, and catches a rather nice view of Break poking his cane at one of the gnomes sulkily, while it herds him back into his room. He goes out of view as the communicator bounces.

Break, and reaches over to pick up the device, back on screen and staring levelly at the camera before he realizes it's recording, and puts on his brightest smile.]

It's like having particularly nosy, abominable, short little parents, isn't it?
