To resist government because humanity is corrupt is foolish. Without order there is only this murderous chaos.

But see, your assertions were about humans. Lucifer is one of yours, and his tantrums have nothing to do with the effectiveness of an ombudsman. If they reflect on anyone, it isn't me, Raphael.

Your attempts at redirecting this conversation are transparent. Do not evade the issue: Adstringendum is murderously chaotic at what humans would call the drop of a hat. Your own friend caused the deaths of many on nothing more than a whim.

I still believe that the cost of imposing this sort of order outweigh the benefits, in a world where death is impermanent. Having been tortured and attacked a time or two myself here, it's my right to speak up on the matter.

Oh, yes it does. I've been blind, I've had my lungs all but rot out of my body, I've had my internal organs involuntarily replaced, and I would still do it all again rather than settle into order.

Then write a philosophy book and allow the normal humans their veneer of security. Government is just as human; I could show you evolutionary proof of such.

Madara was stopped through organized force. Had we been organized before he stepped up, he would have come to justice much sooner.

And if the police force decides they need to do that to Lucifer? To Michael or Gabriel?

For Lucifer? [Her expression hardens further, if possible.] So be it.

Michael or Gabriel would not need it. I can't think of any possible scenario in which they would, unless under the influence of an event.

Really? You can't begin to imagine it? Them disregarding the life of some human? You deciding it's necessary, and this place turning on you.

Michael is too intelligent, and Gabriel too sentimental.

I am not interested in your immature authority issues, Break. The chaos in this city is not working. Only a fool would deny it. [She sounds almost vaguely disappointed- she does not think him a fool, or she didn't. She doesn't really know. Everything is varying degrees of irritation and hate.]

The funny thing is, I think a police force would be beneficial. I just don't trust the way it's being done.

I think you should also be concerned that we've seen it tried nearly a half dozen times, each one a failure.
