[The device flicks on. Static.

Then, purple- only purple. White. Break's coat, the beautiful off-the-shoulder, white one that he lost almost a year ago during that episode with all of the blood. It's back in one piece.]

What-

[Then the feed flicks off. On again, very briefly, as he bangs it on the table. Sound.

Then to video- there's Break's elbow, Emily's dress.

On. Rap rap rap. Someone's knocking it against a table to see if it can be broken open.]

-why does it keep chirping, Emily?

[This is almost exactly how he arrived, nearly two years ago to the day. And here we are, come full circle, about to smash the PCD on a table corner in idle, non-technologically oriented curiosity.]

[Lucifer does, but he's going to draw it out a bit. He's still not entirely convinced this isn't a trick.]

[The subtle shift in the way he walks spells out agreement. Not that Lucifer would've denied it anyway.]

You haven't ever met me before, technically.

[But he leads Break along the deserted alleyways, through rubble, toward the secluded old building Undertaker had found for him]

Here-- [handing a slice of fruit back to him]

[Lucifer doesn't ask, doesn't look, doesn't seem to care at all--he just keeps leading the way]

[Jabbing him hard in the back with his cane.]

[Looking over his shoulder at him, stopping walking]

[Break laughs wildly, and dives into an alley, coat a swirl of white.]

[Lucifer follows, appearing and disappearing in the shadows--not that Break can tell, most likely, except when Lucifer is close enough that the chill of him is noticeable]

[One corner ahead of him, and he simply melts into darkness.

Something about Break has changed.]

[Which he should have expected--if he'd expected Break to come back at all, if this was real. If, if, if.

He doesn't try to follow, instead he goes to burn down the sigiled walls in the safehouse. He doesn't want those symbols in human hands, least of all Break's if he managed to make any of them out.]
