He snorts, and bites Break's lower lip lightly, despite whatever 'bug' Break is fending off.

"What 'purpose'? Keeping everyone on their toes?"

"And making me laugh."

Now and again.

[thelightbringer]

"Oh, that, yeah. I hear it's good for the heart. You know how I try to keep my vessel in shape."

[maddest]

"Beloved Nick?"

Smiling, settling deeper into the couch.

[thelightbringer]

"I wouldn't go that far."

Amused.

"I didn't know you were so fond of him."

[maddest]

"Tell me what kind of man he was?"

Curious.

[thelightbringer]

He was religious. Very...ordinary. He had one love his whole life, and they had one son together.

And then while he was at his boring job, someone broke into their little cottage and murdered his wife and baby. He wasn't so religious after that. He drank himself to sleep and never answered the door.

"...poor baby. He's gone, now?"

Otherwise Break would- he doesn't know.

[thelightbringer]

"Not- he should be. At home he would be. But no, here I sometimes feel him wake up."

He thinks it has to do with whatever has slowed his burning through Nick's body, but who can say?

[maddest]

"Next time you do, give me a poke."

Yawning.

[thelightbringer]

'Ahh...no promises. It's not pleasant."

[maddest]

"Whatever you think is best."

Looking at him with some worry, though.

[thelightbringer]

"He chose this."

He explains because Break has earned that much.

"But that doesn't mean it's easy on him."

[maddest]

"I can see how it wouldn't be."

Agreeing, thinking about it in more detail.

[thelightbringer]

He decides to leave it at that. No point in drilling home details.

"Slide over. Dream me something about the squid."

[maddest]

"Doesn't work like that, angel-mine."

He's smiling, though.

[thelightbringer]

"It does if you're sleeping with me."

He arranges the blanket around them both. Since Break actually needs it, Lucifer ends up only half covered by it.

[maddest]

"Don't set me on fire if I elbow you in the face."

Since they're bundled up all tight and close.

[thelightbringer]

"As long as you come up with a distracting funny story to cover up the bruise~"

It only takes him a few seconds to get comfortable. Without his healing, it feels good to lie still now.

Break yawns a little more, and starts to drift.

[thelightbringer]

As promised, Lucifer throws a squid into his dreams. But the rest he lets Break's subconscious handle; it's more fun that way.

[maddest]

Squid tea party is a go.

[thelightbringer]

When Break wakes, Lucifer will still be there, awake as he usually is. And toying absently with a battered Rubix cube.

Ack off the couch, strange dream. Break hits the carpet with a huff, and looks up at him.

[thelightbringer]

Lucifer peers down at him, terribly amused.

"See? I knew you could dream by request."
