It's working on Al. Lucifer hadn't been sure he'd be able to get that relationship moving where he wanted it again, not after the fight. But now that he's spoken to Al it seems to be doing better than it had been weeks ago.

"...Makes sense. But I doubt it's going to stick with Jyuushirou. I wouldn't hold my breath for it."

"Do what you can."

He instructs him.

"It's important to me that you try."

"I am. It will be better for all of us if it works."

He sighs and turns his head to look at Break.

"Tell me again why you want this?"

All of 'this', not just the manipulative or clumsy efforts at playing nice with the city.

"Because I can envision a future in which there is cocoa, cheer, and teapots."

Explaining, albeit not very well.

[thelightbringer]

He smiles in that oddly human way he has.

"As long as you always give me the best cup."

[maddest]

"Always."

Smiling.

"Thank you. Do you feel a little better?"

[thelightbringer]

"Mmhmm."

And he does seem content. All it takes is reassuring him that he's the favorite; who knew?

"Are you? It's early to be sleeping on the couch."

[maddest]

"I've been drowsy. I think I'm getting a bug."

Laughing, stretching a little.

Lucifer had never been especially generous with his powers. But now that he couldn't help if he tried, he has to wonder how humans deal with being so helpless all the time.

"I would-"

If he could.

"Ice packs seemed to help when I was sick."

[maddest]

"Yes, but you're an ice-monster."

He reminds him, smiling indulgently.

"Get me a blanket?"

"I prefer the term snowman."

He ruffles Break's hair, then gets up and finds one of their many ratty blankets. He takes him the heaviest one.

"I found a willing servant to take care of those beehives I found."

[maddest]

"Honey."

Nostalgic, stretching out a little more.

[thelightbringer]

"Oceans of it, maybe. However much three hives will give you two."

He absently checks Break for fever, the way Unohana had taught him and Castiel to do.

He's fine, it's just a bit of overtiredness. He does smile at the attentiveness, though.

"Is that right?"

[thelightbringer]

"But Gabriel is a glutton, so..."

He meets Break's gaze.

"You might have to thumb wrestle him or tie him up in a basement."

[maddest]

"Don't get jealous when I do. It won't mean nearly as much as when I tie you up in my basement."

[thelightbringer]

That gets a laugh, a playful shove.

"You're such a brat. If you enjoy it, you'll have to make it up to me."

[maddest]

"You wish."

Gleeful, snuggling down in his blanket. Life could be worse.

[thelightbringer]

He stretches out his legs, quite cozy sitting there on the floor.

"You say that now, but the second you had him in chains you'd be thinking, 'But where's Lucifer? I need an angel who doesn't talk in references'."

[maddest]

"You do serve your purpose, don't you?"

Grinning.

[thelightbringer]

He snorts, and bites Break's lower lip lightly, despite whatever 'bug' Break is fending off.

"What 'purpose'? Keeping everyone on their toes?"

[maddest]

"And making me laugh."

Now and again.

[thelightbringer]

"Oh, that, yeah. I hear it's good for the heart. You know how I try to keep my vessel in shape."

[maddest]

"Beloved Nick?"

Smiling, settling deeper into the couch.

[thelightbringer]

"I wouldn't go that far."

Amused.

"I didn't know you were so fond of him."
